NEW INDONESIAN PIX PLEASE CLICK ON LINK ON THE RIGHT

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting our website and sharing our stories. For what happened so far please click on the links on the left.

Well, we have made it.  Malaysia .... what a culture shock after Indonesia. Everything is so.....like Australia here, well almost.

The locals are friendly and everything is about half the price of that in Australia, even imported goods from Australia like meat and dairy products. Even TimTams are less then half the price. Thank you major Department stores and Supermarkets ( we don't want to mention any names) for ripping the Australian people off and getting away with it for so long. Marina fees are unbelievable low here and so are haulout fees and repairs for boats. And they do it on time.

I went to Singapore for a day to look for gadgets. Must say overpriced and in case of Laptops just out of date stuff and dearer than in Australia.Would have been nice to have had Silvi with me and do some sightseeing.

Going up the river into Danga Bay where one side is Malaysian and the other is Singapore it reminded both of us of the Berlin Wall and we both got a bit depressed. on the Singapore side there was an electric fence with radar and all sort of nasty things attached to it. The signs said that it was a millitary practice range, but........who are they kidding. with dozens of fast Patrol Boats all over the river. The whole thing is designed to keep illegal immigrant from swimming across the river and getting into Singapore. Singapore has even got an airforce with supersonic fighter jets. Where do the fly?????? Singapore is tiny and they cannot fly across the city.

Tonight was the official welcoming dinner, and  so far the best. Food, Music and Atmosphere were simply 'the best'. FREE BEER. So sorry Silvi could have been here. There was even a briefing on how to get safely to Langkawi by a boat which has done the trip about 5 times. Great Information and everyone was very impressed.

Sylvia is back in Australia at present trying to organize an operation on knee.
